If you would like to adopt a pet from the Brockton Blue Dog Shelter it very important to read all of the adoption information below. Any pet that you see listed through our PetFinder link below is currently available for adoption. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE IF YOU INTEND ON ADOPTING A PET FROM THE BROCKTON BLUE DOG SHELTER.Thank you for your interest in one of our Blue Dogs. Please read the information under the specific dog you are interested in to be clear about when that dog will be available to begin meeting new families. Click on the dog's name on the Petfinder page to see all the information. Most of our new puppies arrive on Fridays. They will be normally available to meet new families on Saturday beginning at 8 AM, but arrival day/time sometimes changes so please check our website for current information. If there is no time or day written, they are currently available and ready to meet prospective families anytime the shelter is open. The new puppies tend to go quickly, so it's a good idea to be EARLY! Our shelter hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturdays from 8AM to 2PM. The shelter is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR APPLICATION COMPLETELY, PRINT IT AND BRING IT WITH YOU!Our parent facility, J.M. Pet Resort is open every day, 6am to 9pm. For puppies and dogs that are available beginning on Saturdays at 8AM: you may come as early as 6AM ON THAT SATURDAY and put your name on the list to view the available dogs/puppies. Then you must be back by 7:50AM to keep your spot in line. Any dog that is currently in shelter is available to be viewed at anytime during open shelter hours. The shelter is located at 1014 Pearl Street in Brockton. We are proudly housed within the J.M. Pet Resort. Each dog that is at our shelter is adopted out to the BEST suited family. The dogs are seen on a first come, first serve basis. We DO NOT hold dogs for any reason. (See FAQs regarding deposits). If you are seriously interested in meeting one of our dogs, you should be prepared to have EVERYONE WHO LIVES IN YOUR HOUSE come to meet him or her at the shelter. This is one of the requirements of our adoption process. If only one person from the family is available to meet at the specified time then he/she may come and meet the puppy or dog and leave a $100 non-refundable deposit and have the rest of the family come back to meet him/her later that day. If you are not 100% sure that this will be a good match then do not leave a deposit. IF THE ADOPTION IS NOT APPROVED DUE TO A MISMATCH IN THE FAMILY OR REFERENCES THAT REPORT A CONFLICT, THEN THE DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. We only allow one deposit per dog. Thus, when a deposit is put down, the dog/puppy is no longer shown for adoption. If you have other dogs in the household, an appointment must be made for the dogs to be introduced at our facility. Please have your current dog's/cat's proof of vaccination with you. We require distemper, rabies, and kennel cough vaccines for dogs and current rabies vaccines for cats, based on state law. We do our best to bring together great dogs with great new families. Your online application will be on file with the dog you originally applied for, but you are welcome to view any dog that is available for adoption. Thank you again for your interest. WE HOPE TO MAKE YOUR NEXT DOG A BLUE DOG! |
